Because of the window technology used, i.e. an enable zone monitored for target position and dwell time, a counterpart, e.g. a magnet or a special mechanical target is not required. If the target is removed from the enable zone, the output circuits open. The fail-safe sensor can be connected to approved two-channel evaluation units without crossmonitoring that are suitable for positive-switching noncontact guards. In case of a fault, e.g. cross fault of the wires, the sensor passes into the defined safe state.
