Monitor FS-3: to avoid skew.

Applications
The FS-3 monitor has been designed for skew monitoring. Typical fields of application are lifting systems with spindle or chain drive (2-column lifting systems). The evaluation system can also detect non-permissible torsional strain of shafts with central drive in time and thus protect the installation against shaft break.

Advantages
Standard evaluation systems with slip setting in per cent are not suitable for these applications since they monitor pulse differences only on one side or reset pulse differences already detected after a defined cycle time. Limit values can thus never be reached.

The FS-3 monitor however has two switching outputs indicating which side of the system is blocked or too slow. Either corrective measures can be taken or the installation be stopped.

Functions
The FS-3 monitor counts the pulses proportional to the speed at both inputs and determines the difference. A regular pulse train without difference means regular raising and lowering of a lifting system without skew. In cases of error for example one side is slower which results in a pulse difference. The number of differential pulses can be indicative of the height difference in centimetres. Since one output each is assigned to the inputs, skew can be assessed. Either corrective measures can be taken or the installation be stopped.
