To monitor the position of an object in a continuous process, the sensor can be programmed to provide two separate outputs that will activate at preset distances. A typical application is web tension monitoring.

The efector pmd sensor can operate  as a background suppression sensor at distances up to 10 m. Using a laser light source with a spot size of only 6 mm, the sensor accurately detects small objects – such as a nut on a car door panel.

The efector pmd sensor can provide  an analog signal (4...20 mA) that is proportional to the object-to-sensor distance. The analog output can be scaled to fit a variety of applications including automated storage and retrieval systems.
