"Window" technology

The fail-safe inductive sensors provide reliable sensing using a “window technology” that eliminates the need for coded targets or magnets.

Safe operation is enabled only when the metal target enters the enable zone or window of the fail safe sensor. Any target outside the enable zone will result in the sensor failing to safe.

For example, a steel FE360 target must be located within 10 - 15 mm away from the fail safe sensor. If the target appears outside the enable zone, the sensor will fail to safe.
