Safety at Work system overview
ifm efector’s Safety at Work system enables the integration of safety-related components into most standard PLCs and higher level networks. The system overview will help you select all the components necessary to implement a Safety at Work system.

| Safety Monitor
The safety monitor evaluates the transmission of safety messages over the network and controls shutdown.
• Connection for up to 31 safety modules / intelligent e-stops
• 1 or 2 OSSD (relay) contacts

Connection to Control Platform and Network Power Supply
The master enables the connection of the Safety at Work system to multiple PLC platforms and industrial networks.
The system power supply couples power and signal over the two-wire cable.

E-stop
Fully functional efector e–stop buttons are designed to directly interface with the Safety at Work system.
• Rated at Category 4 • Available with LED indication or key release

Safety Input Module
Input modules are designed to interface standard mechanical safety devices to the system.
• Connection for two
I/O devices rated up to control Category 2; or one I/O device rated at control Category 3 or 4
