Continuous position detection of linear positon valves with a stroke up to 80 mm

ifm introduces efector valvis, an innovative solution for indicating the position of linear valves. efector valvis is easy to use, simply teach the sensor the open and closed valve position using two pushbuttons. efector valvis eliminates all mechanical adjustments and significantly reduces setup time.

efector valvis is installed on top of a linear valve, and reliably detects the valve position within a stroke of 80 mm. Using 16 multiplexed sensing coils, valvis can detect the position of the stem at a resolution of 0.2 mm.

This innovative measuring technology can be used to indicate a predictive maintenance condition for seal contact wear. If the seal starts to wear, the sensor detects this condition and sends an alarm signal to the PLC, eliminating time or cycle based maintenance of valves.

efector valvis also offers an additional output that can be used to indicate the seat lift position during the cleaning process for double seat valves.
